Oregon football: Cliff Harris is back, production still to come

EUGENE - Cliff Harris made his return to Oregon's special teams on Thursday, though the results were not spectacular.
Harris, a junior cornerback who had four punt returns for touchdowns en route to All-American honors in 2010, got 13 yards on two punt returns in the Ducks' 43-15 win against California at Autzen Stadium.
Harris had not been used on returns in the past few games because of a heavily wrapped hand, not because he couldn't, Oregon coach Chip Kelly said.
One of Harris' biggest plays last year came against California: his 64-yard punt return for a touchdown helped the Ducks escape Berkeley with a 15-13 win.
Harris was arrested in June after being cited for excessive speeding on Interstate 5 and was later suspended by Kelly for the season opener against LSU in Arlington, Texas.
Elite runner
Oregon running back LaMichael James is already among the Pac-12 Conference's elite all-time rushers and he added another line to his career marks.
With a 39-yard run in the second quarter, the Oregon junior became the sixth player in conference history with 4,000 rushing yards.
James' 53-yard touchdown run was his third rushing score of 50 yards or more this season.
Though his season could be in jeopardy with the dislocated elbow he suffered Thursday, James told the media that fans shouldn't worry about him coming back.
"I'm good. I will be in an Oregon uniform this year. It's not a season-ending injury," he said. "I'm tough. I'm a warrior. I'm not gonna quit on my team."
Turnover free
Oregon's struggles with getting their hands on passes in the defensive backfield continues.
The Ducks failed to intercept a pass for the fourth time in its five games this season.
Oregon did not force a turnover against Cal and has not created a turnover since the Sept. 10 game against Nevada.
The Ducks entered the game leading the country in fewest quarterback sacks allowed at 0.25 per game, but gave up one to the Bears.
